National Defence Academy-NDA
NDA is not just about men who have achieved greatness in peace or war but is about the indomitable spirit of all those who have been enriched by its ethos and who in turn have left behind a part of their souls to make it the wonderful, vibrant and much admired entity that it is today. It is to impart combined training to Officer Cadets of Army, Navy and Air Force. NDA provides the highest standards of focused training in the professional, intellectual, physical, and leadership spheres as well as moral and ethical grooming to cadets. In doing so, it makes use of innovative concepts, technologies, corporate and modern practices with a view to providing the Armed Forces, competent potential leaders with high standards of integrity, capable of leading troops to victory.
All the cadets joining the NDA after their 10+2 Examination, are trained in the Academy for three years culminating into graduation in B.A/B.Sc. or B. Sc. (Computer Science) degree of Jawaharlal Nehru University. Apart from academic training they are also trained in outdoor skills, like Drill, PT and games. The emphasis in NDA is on character building, esprit-de-corps, mental and physical robustness, leadership and a sense of keen observation. NDA has an excellent infrastructure for all-round training of cadets and vast array of facilities like spacious and well maintained classrooms, well equipped labs, two Olympic size swimming pools, a Gymnasium, 32 football grounds, polo grounds, a cricket stadium and a number of squash and tennis courts. The academic year is divided into two terms, viz. Spring Term (January to May) and Autumn Term (July to December). Here a cadet has to undergo training for six terms before he passes out from NDA.
How to Apply
Applications can be submitted both online and offline method.
There is a common form for all UPSC exams. In the prescribed form, a candidate has to indicate the exam he/she has applied for. Forms are available in selected post offices across the country. As soon as the application forms are received and processed, the candidates will be sent an admit card. Candidates who belong to reserved quota can post their applications along with concession proof. Rules for Reservation
No relaxation is available to students of any category in the National Defense Academy.
How to fill the Form
Applications can be done:
Before filling the form, candidate's scanned recent photograph and signature in the .png format is required. The file size should not be more than 40KB.The notification date can be filled in the second part of the form .
- By submitting in any branch of SBI by cash.
- By net banking facility of SBI
- By Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card
Candidates applying offline need to carry certain things. The candidates should fill the form themselves. The forms are processed on computerized machines; candidates should handle the forms very carefully .HB pencils should be used for darkening the circles. Entry in the boxes can be made through black or blue pen. Candidates please note that both of these fields must be filled very carefully so that there is no difference between the two entries.
