TWO DAY INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON MARKETING
Education today is in complete without the global exposure to the students. Keeping the
above view in mind a two day International Workshop was conducted in Sachdeva Institute
of Technology on ‘Professional Selling and role of Digital Communication in Market’. The
prominent speaker of the workshop was Dr. Maurice from Bradford Business School, UK.
Dr. Maurice has had a wide ranging career including working in retail marketing,
establishing a direct mail marketing company and management consultancy. He therefore
endeavors to ensure that his teaching is not only based upon sound theory but is based
upon current, practical experiences.
Although this was Dr. Maurice’s first visit to India, he has experience of International
Business working as Vice-President Marketing in the USA, and International operations and
acting as educational advisor to colleges in the places like Malaysia and China.
At the Institute Dr. Maurice was honoured with warm and traditional welcome by Vice
Chairman Mr. Soam Sachdeva, Advisor Dr. A. K. Saluja, HOD MBA Mrs. Ekta Rao.
Dr. Maurice and Mr. Soam Sachdeva inaugurated the program and lighted the lamp
in front of Goddess Saraswati, followed by paying tribute in the form of Saraswati Vandana.
On the first day of workshop Dr. Maurice explained the importance of Salesmanship in
selling the products. He emphasized on developing the relationship with the customer to
sell the product. According to him, today’s customer is more interested in getting ‘Product
Benefits’ than knowing about the ‘Product Features’.
On the concluding day, Dr. Maurice highlighted the importance of Digital
Communication in Marketing and gave tips on effective professional selling using effective
instances and case studies.
He explained that whole world is becoming a village and digital communication is
emerging as a key tool for business marketing and it will sole controller factor in the future.
From internet to mobile, from television to social media marketing, all are invincible hands of
Digital Communication and from MNCs to small industrial units all are depended on Digital
Communication to reach their customers.
In his lecture he explained the advantages of information technology and Internet in
business and also about the unlimited possibilities of Information Technology to take the
business to new horizons. He said that India is far behind in using Internet on P.Cs but the
use of Internet can be done through Mobile communication as more than half of the
population of India is Mobile user. This fact should be taken into account by Indian
Companies to fetch this opportunity. According to Dr. Maurice, there is a huge potential in
Indian Youths and there is no scarcity of talent in India. Indian Intellectual Property is viewed
in a respectful way world wide.
The students and faculty members have presented their queries and workshop
proved to be highly beneficial for them. Mr. Soam Sachdeva Vice-Chairman of Sachdeva
Group assured to have more of such workshops in future. Advisor Dr. A. K. Saluja has also
put his views about benefits of digital communication in business and the advantages of
conducting such workshops.
Mrs. Ekta Rao, HOD MBA thanked Dr. Maurice for his presence and sharing his
valuable experiences about International aspect of Information Technology with the
Dr. Maurice was delighted to see the enthusiasm of the students during the session
and promised to visit again in future. He appreciated the continuous upliftment of Technical

The programme concluded with the distribution of Certificates to students for their
outstanding contribution in extra-curricular activities. Besides the MBA faculty and students
